Parvez, Dayal give JK hope

Srinagar, Dec 24: The fighting batting display by JK middle order lead by Parvez Rasool and Ram Dayal on the third day of the four day Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh has given hosts JK hope of a win at GGM Science College Ground here on Monday.
The third days play started with JK’ second inning tattering at 16 for the loss of three wickets. The overnight batting duo of Parvez Rasool and Owais Shah played patiently and took JK score past 87 runs. At that point Shah lost his composure and gave his wicket after scoring fighting 33 runs. The next in coming batsmen O Haroon could not do much and lost his wicket after scoring 11 runs. Parvez then was joined by Ram Dayal and the duo put of 60 run stand between them. Parvez fell on the personal score of 83 runs when JK’s total was 180 runs. After that Dayal joined in with lower order and made it sure that JK puts up competitive total in front of HP. The JK second inning bundled out for 248 runs, thus setting a target of 234 for HP to win match. HP had first inning lead of 14 runs. Ram Dayal scored 71 runs.
At the end of days play HP was on 32 for the loss of one wicket needing another 203 runs to win match on the last day of the play on Tuesday.
The only wicket of the day was taken by Ram Dayal. Earlier in its first inning JK were bundled out for 175 runs while as HP scored 189 runs in their first inning.
