Will see how Delhi deals with protests: Hurriyat(G)
Srinagar Dec 24: Terming the Delhi gang rape rage as justified, Hurriyat Conference (G) Monday said what remains to be seen is whether authorities in New Delhi “would fire upoun the protestors or slap them with Public Safety Act as done in Jammu and Kashmir.”
In a statement issued here, to show resentment and anger against the Delhi rape incident is a fully justified move. “But when Kashmiri people protest against the repressive measures, the forces assassinate them and arrested them under PSA,” said Hurriyat(G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar.
He said the forces after witnessing mass uprising blame ISI, Hizbul Mujahideen or Lashkar-e-Toiba. “In New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expresses solidarity with the protesters,” he said.
The Hurriyat spokesman said, “New Delhi’s disparity” towards Kashmiris has become public. “It is once again proven that Kashmiris are being taken for a ride by New Delhi time and again. People of New Delhi are being told that they are no more slaves. But when it comes to Kashmir, Indian authorities can go to any extent,” the spokesman said.
