Sendbal case: Sarpanch among 20 charged with murder
Ganderbal, Dec 25: The Principal Session Judge here charged 20 persons, accused in Sendhbal murder case, under Section 302 (murder) of the Ranbir Penal Code.
The PCJ Syid Tawqeer directed the prosecution to lead the evidence and fixed the case for hearing in January 2013.
The case was registered in Kheerbawani Police Station here under FIR No. 24/2012/302. A total of 20 persons were accused in the case including Muhammad Subhan Wani, the Sarpanch of Sendhbal village.
They were arrested in connection with the ‘murder’ of 22 year old Shabir Ahmad Bhat on August 6 this year at Sendhbal.
The defense lawyer while lawyer pleaded that only six accused be charged for murder and remaining 14 persons be charged for attempt to murder under section 307 of RPC. However the judge charged all the accused under section 302 of the RPC.
