Brand Salman Khan

His presence in the movie is bound to delight the box office

DABANGG 2

If we have to witness Midas touch in Bollywood these days, we better watch a movie, TV show or TV commercial which has a Salman Khan factor. With him around you don’t need worry much about film making ingredients; his presence in the movie is bound to delight the box office. The latest entry to his already loaded cap with feathers is DABANGG 2. Honestly speaking apart from the numeric 2 added to the name of the movie nothing much has changed from DABANGG. Although Dilip Shukla has attempted to write a script for the movie which has Chulbul, his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), father (Vinod Khanna) and brother Makkhi (Arbaaz) shifting base to Kanpur after his transfer from a small town of Lalgadh, but the script ends up portraying similar plot which includes famous Chulbul one liners, smooth chemistry with the pretty Sonakshi, Robin hood Pandey’s signature style of hanging shades and of course some amazing jaw breaking action scenes,.  In order to sprinkle some more oomph factor in the movie an additional item number with item girl (Kareena Kapoor) has been included in addition to Munni (Malaika Arora Khan) wherein the pain relieving benefits of Zandu balm are complimented with magnetic properties of Fevicol. Character of Salman Khan in the movie has been made a lot adorable this time. He starts with a one liner, breaks some bones, dances, takes his shirt off to display his age-defying physique, and then cracks another joke.
Chulbul continues to play a corrupt police officer but this time in a bigger city and against nastier goons. Local politician Bacha Bhaya (Prakash Raj) is one of the prime goons in the big city, which gives Chulbul every reason to make merry mayhem. His adventure to rid the city of all crime makes him lock horns with Bacha Bhaya. The role played by Prakash Raj has been towards a bit of a sloppy side compared to the strong presence made felt by Cheedi Singh (Sonu Sood) in the previous version. Also, the songs in the movie are not properly placed and looks like a patch work. As usual like other Salman Khan flicks the story is quite flat without much twists and turns. Even the music, choreography and picturisation of songs in the film have remained monotonous and Sajid-Wajid has firmly stuck to the tested formula of Dabangg. But with Salman Khan in the movie you don’t need to ask for logic. Expectedly Dabangg 2's lone strength is Salman Khan himself, who is the anchor that holds together this otherwise average film. The way Salman has connected with the masses across regions, age and demography speaks about the fortune minting fate of his movies. Overall the box office success expected from Dabangg 2 is a bit less keeping in consideration the anticipated combined equities of two brands in the movie-Brand Dabangg and Brand Salman Khan.
