Daytime movement of tippers risks Bemina inhabitants
SYED IMRAN ALI HAMDANI
Srinagar, Dec 28: Movement of tippers in Bemina locality here during daytime has put the inhabitants at risk.
The High Court has banned movement of heavy vehicles including tippers in the city during day.
However, in contravention of the directive, the tippers move at a high speed in Bemina and other areas of the City in absence of any regulation by the Traffic police.
“Heavy movement of tippers has put our lives at risk. Due to reckless driving by the tipper drivers, edges of surface drains, manhole lids and water pipes are damaged,” said Muhammad Shafi Bhat of Garipora.
The inhabitants exuded hope that SP Traffic would take necessary steps to stop movement of tippers in the colony during daytime.
The residents also appealed Deputy Commissioner Budgam to personally look into the matter.
