Factors responsible
This refers to the hue and cry raised against government schools for their poor performance in the recently declared 10th class results. There are various factors responsible for it.
The first burning problem is the disproportion and irrational distribution of teachers in schools. There are some schools were teachers out number the students but in most schools the roll of students are more and teachers are few. Lack of subject knowing teachers is another cause of concern. Strong bureaucratic and political intervention in the administration of our government schools has badly affected the standard of education in our schools. Most of the students enrolled in government schools come from poor family. There is no retention and detention policy of government and that makes all dull and bright students sail in the same boat. Provision of midday meal is a very good step for the motivation of students but it also involves the teachers, consuming their precious time which again tells upon their performance ultimately effecting the results.
