Sagar for expediting work on Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan college
Srinagar, Dec 28: Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Panchayati Raj, Ali Muhammad Sagar on Friday directed the concerned departments to expedite work on the new college building at Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan in Shaher-e-Khaas.
The Minister was speaking at a high level review meeting convened to discuss the measures put in place for construction of the college building.
The Minister directed the officers to ensure that the new college building is completed within the shortest possible time so that the students living in different parts of Shaher-e-Khaas get the requisite educational facilities within their catchment areas.
“Government has prioritized education as one of the most important sectors and every care would be taken to strengthen the same and provide the requisite infrastructure for it,” Sagar said.
He also directed the officers to work in close coordination so that they come up with the comprehensive plan to ensure that the new building is based on modern design having state-of-the-art facilities for the students pursuing studies there.
“We have to ensure that the college comes up as one of the model institutes in old city providing all the educational and extra-curricular activities to the students pursuing studies there,” he said.
Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik said that the new courses including Chemistry honors, MSC IT and Public Administration would also be introduced for the students studying of the college.
Among others Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, Vipul Pathak, Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, B. A. Renuyal, Special Secretary Higher Education, Director Colleges and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
