Burglars decamp with LPG cylinders
Srinagar, Dec 2: Burglars on Saturday evening struck at Lane B of Alamdar Colony, on Old Airport Road and decamped with dozen of LPG cylinders.
According to locals, burglars, apparently an organised gang, struck at the residential houses of
Dr M Iqbal Khan, Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, Showkat Ahmad Nahvi, Farooq Ahmad Nahvi and Fayaz Ahmad around 5.30 pm when menfolk were out in the local Masjid for Magrib prayers and decamped with about a dozen of HP, Indane Gas cylinders most of which were filled and lying in the compounds.
“It was a well planned burglary as it was executed within a span of 45 minutes and none of the inmates could notice the movement of the burglars. Although police have taken cognizance of the crime report the incident has left the residents shell shocked as this is for the first time that the criminals struck at so many houses at a time simultaneously,” the locals said.
