Businessman’s house in Jammu fired upon
Srinagar, Dec 2: Unidentified gunmen fired upon the house of Valley-based businessman, Haseeb Ahmad Tramboo, at Sector 7 Channi Himmat Jammu during the intervening night of 1st and 2nd December, a local newsgathering agency KNS, quoting sources said.
However, no loss of life or property was reported.
According to sources, Tramboo’s PSOs retaliated, however, the attackers fled from spot under the cover of darkness.
KNS quoted Tramboo as saying that his house at Jammu had been attacked by the unidentified persons.
“It was around 12:30 midnight. I heard some gunshots and called my PSOs who were on the 2nd floor. One of the PSOs retaliated firing from 2nd floor of house while another took position in the ground floor. Both PSOs shot several rounds,” said Tramboo.
He said that PSOs had witnessed the movement of two gunmen who were running away after retaliation from them (PSOs). “The gunmen couldn’t be identified in the dark”, added Tramboo.
He said that he immediately informed the local police station Channi Himmat, adding “Police party reached the spot within 10 minutes and cordoned off the house and started search operation in the area to trace assailants. In the morning all senior police officers including DIG Jammu visited my house”, said Tramboo.
“I’ve filed a written complaint in this regard before the police and I’m sure a case must have been registered”, he replied.
Pertinently, Tramboo is one of the leading contractors of Food Corporation of India from Kashmir. He was threatened by unidentified gunmen last year in Srinagar.
