Parapet of Bund near Sonwar vandalized

Srinagar, Dec 2:  The Cantonment Board as well as Irrigation and PHE department have turned mute spectators to the vandalisation of parapet of Bund near PDD grid station Sonwar.
 A delegation of residents who live near Shangrila Hotel and PDD grid station on Friday told Greater Kashmir that illegal iron grilled wall has been erected by demolishing Bund.
 “We have repeatedly been urging Cantonment Board and Irrigation department to intervene and save the bund from being vandalized as encroachers are hell bent to deface it illegally but nothing has been done in this regard so far,” said Tariq Mir, a resident.
 The residents said this defacement would allow encroachment of the bund in other sides.
Urging Irrigation department to intervene and stop the defacement, the residents said that Cantonment Board has failed to check the vandalisation of the Bund.
