Official website of Horticulture deptt launched
Technology shift shall boost horti sector in Valley: Tej Pratap
Srinagar, Dec 29: Launching the official website of Directorate of Horticulture, Kashmir at SKICC here today, Vice Chancellor Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agriculture and Science & Technology (SKUAST)-Kashmir, Dr Tej Pratap emphasized that the technology shift, being the need of hour can be simplified and made useful for growers, orchardists and stakeholders of horticulture sector through use of Information Technology.
He said that the launching of the website shall make available relevant data and timely information in bilingual format in English and Urdu languages to update the knowledge of orchardists and fruit growers in the Valley.
Among others, officers of the various departments, scholars and scientists of SKUAST-K and Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH), besides fruit growers and stakeholders were present on the occasion.
Director Horticulture, Kashmir M Saleem Shishgar while speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance of Information and Technology in Horticulture sector and said that it will undoubtedly help the orchardists and fruit growers to adopt the latest technology.
