Barzulla protests against CAPD
Residents smell rat in ration depot location, seek Akhoon’s intervention
GK CITY REPORTER
Srinagar, Dec 4: The residents of Mandar Bagh, Barzulla Tuesday staged demonstrations against the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department accusing the CAPD of putting them to deliberate trouble by not providing them ration depot in the area.
A delegation of residents said the ration depot meant for the locality has been shifted to Parray Pora.
“For the past five years we have been seeking transfer of the depot to Mandar Bagh and even though since 2010 official formalities in this regard have been completed, no action was being taken by CAPD officials,” the residents said.
They accused the CAPD officials of not paying any heed to their genuine demands. “Today also we visited the CAPD officials but got a cold response,” the residents said.
They smelled a rat in the deal as to “why the ration depot for Mandar Bagh was operating from another locality thereby catering to two areas, unduly.”
They appealed the CAPD Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon to personally look into the matter. Despite repeated attempts the CAPD officials could not be contacted for comments.
