Lifer to Nazir, Showkat unfortunate: JKMM
Srinagar, Dec 5: Reacting to the life imprisonment recently awarded to Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and Showkat Ahmad Khan by the TADA Court Jammu, the chief of Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement Farida Behanji termed it most unfortunate.
“It is but sheer political reprisal,” Farida said in a statement on Wednesday, such steps would not deter Kashmiris from pursuing their cause of freedom. She has also demanded immediate release of all the detainees presently lodged in jails in and outside Valley.
Meanwhile, a delegation of JKMM led by its chairman Moulvi Bashir Ahmad visited the residence of late Abdul Samad Bhat, father of Riyaz Malik, senior editor Kashmir Uzma, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
