Patience is the key
Patience is a great virtue. Those who have it are the luckiest. God tests his worshippers in adversity. If we stand fast and don't lose heart and remember Him in every situation, we will sure be guided to the right path. It does not take much to accept joy as a blessing from Almighty, but it takes a lot to accept grief a mark of warning and admonishment from him. Allah says in the Holy Quran. And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah] (2:45)
God is with those who, in true sense of the word, seek through patience and prayer. But it is easier said than done. What He expects from us is not just the word, but the deed. Saying it doesn't matter, doing it means a lot. There is a great emphasis in the holy book about patience and prayer. The following verses explain it so lucidly and comprehensively.
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient. And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not. And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.
(Chapter 2 verse 153 to 157)
How noble are those souls who never grumble when they are in any kind of difficulty. Though human beings are created very fragile, but in that fragility lies the real strength. Let's all pray that God saves from any disaster, but if something unpleasant happens, we must again return to him and ask for his forgiveness. That is the real spirit of patience and that is what Allah the almighty expects of us.
