Rs 5 lakh distributed among orchard owners
Srinagar, Dec 6: To acquaint the orchard owners with the latest techniques of fruit cultivation, an awareness camp was organized at Kunzar here today. A large number of orchard owners participated in the Camp. Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla exhorted upon the officers and field functionaries to work with dedication and disseminate the latest techniques among the agriculturists to improve the yield and production of fruits. Cheques worth Rs. 5 lakh were distributed among the beneficiaries as an incentive on purchase of plant protection machinery on the occasion. The experts interacted with the orchard owners to make them aware about the latest techniques of fruit cultivation besides the schemes under implementation for improving the economic status of farming community.
