2 Valley players to play in Int’l Chess C'ship
Syed Rozal, Mehroz Selected For Asian Event
Srinagar, Dec 7: The Valley’s two budding chess players have been selected by All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the 8th Asian Schools Chess championship. The championship is scheduled to be held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from December 13.
Syed Rozal Sajjad and Mehroz Sajjad have been selected for the event by AICF and they will lock horns with their Asian counterparts in it. They have been selected on the basis of their position and points during 39th J&K State Chess Championship in which they bagged gold in their respective categories of Sub-Junior boys and Sub-Junior girls.
Meanwhile the J&K State Chess Association President Comrade Abdul Rashid has congratulated both the players for their selection.
