‘Kapal Mochan Shrine has pilgrim tourism potential’
Srinagar, Dec 8: A delegation of management committee of Temples and Shrines of district Shopian, headed by its president V S Lahori visited Kapaal Mochan shrine and other temples of the district, on December 6 to take stock of the developmental works going on there.
The delegation called on the Deputy Commissioner Shopian and apprised him of various issues faced on account of paucity of land.
A statement said it was explained to the authorities that Kapal Mochan Shrine has a great pilgrim tourism potential, which needs to be harnessed for the betterment of local economy.
“The Revenue authorities were requested to expedite the transfer of land agreed to be given to the Shrine, in lieu of the Shrine’s land taken by the government for construction of Middle school at Devgam,” the statement added.
