‘Negligible budget earmarked for GMC Associated hospitals’
Srinagar, Dec 8: Civil Society Forum Kashmir's health committee has expressed concern and demanded immediate attention of the government over the poor and pathetic condition of oxygen plant in LD hospital.
In a statement, the general secretary of CSFK said, “Oxygen supply is the lifeline and the basic requirement of any hospital, we fail to understand how can it be compromised that too in a critical hospital like LD".
“No or negligible budget is earmarked for the repair and maintenance of equipment in GMC Associated Hospitals, that is why the installed machinery is showing such results by causing incidents like these. Although in our recent meetings with the Chief minister Omar Abdullah and Minister for Health and Medical education R, S chib, we were assured that government will take every possible measure for the upliftment and betterment of healthcare facilities in the state but we further and once again appeal to the government to ensure healthcare doesn't stand neglected in any form in the state,” the statement added.
