GHSS Kachwa Muqam sans playground
PEERZADA AARIF
Kachwa Muqam (Baramulla), Dec 8: Students of Government Higher Secondary School Kachwa Muqam in this north Kashmir's Baramulla district are up-in-arms against the non-availability of playground in the school.
The school falls in the jurisdiction of education zone Wagoora and is located at a distance of 20 kms from main town Baramulla.
The students of the school are forced to play on roads and in the crop fields. "We are forced to play in the nearby crop fields. We had a small piece of land in front of the school but that has been used for construction purposes," a group of students said. "We have totally been neglected and we are facing discrimination."
"How can we compete with other students who are enjoying sports facility in their schools?" they asked.
They said the school has not even produced a single student for district, state or national level cricket or volley ball matches.
The students of the school have appealed the Minister for sports and physical education R.S Chib to look into matter.
