JKTA welcomes celebration of Mountain Day in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 8: J&K Tourism Alliance (JKTA) today welcomed J&K Ski and Mountaineering Association for its decision to celebrate International Mountain Day on Dec 11 in Kashmir.
JKTA Chairman, Nasir Shah, said that celebrating the day in Kashmir would help spread awareness among the general public about the importance to conserve the ecology and environment in the state.
He also hailed JKTA chairman Rauf Ahmad Tramboo for this decision. “Rauf, a veteran mountaineer has always worked for the protection and preservation of our natural resources, be it forests or water bodies.” Shah also complimented Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr G N Qasba for “working hard to eradicate the menace of polythene from Srinagar city.”
