Mother Dairy forays into juice, pickle market

Srinagar, Dec 8: Delhi’s Mother Dairy (DMS), one of the milk giants of the country has now turned to veggie world throwing a challenge to those already established in the fruit juice business at least in Northern India. It has come up with ‘Safal’ as the brand name.
 DMS ‘Safal’ a big name in the category of fresh fruits, vegetables and frozen peas now brings to market its products like fruit juice/ready to serve drinks, pickles, jams and tomato puree claiming to maintain highest standards in production and packaging at its Mongolpuri Fruit and Vegetable Unit that is why ‘Safal’ lures you with its slogan ‘Bring home the goodness of nature’.
 The news is that Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd’s ‘Ready to Serve Fruit Drink’, Mango Drink, Lime Drink-Nimbu Shikanji, pickles, Jams/ Marmalade, Natural Jam and even Tomato Puree in packing like Tetrapack, Pet Bottles in different quantities of varying shelf life at competitive prices across the shelf in groceries, cafeterias, restaurants, etc. in the Valley.
 The man behind the successful launch of Safal products across the northern India is none other than Sanjeev Dixit the former Chief Executive Officer of JK Milk Producers Cooperative Limited who did everything for revival of milk plants at Cheshma Shahi, Srinagar and Satwari Jammu.
 It is his obsession with Kashmir that makes him to come to Kashmir frequently. He has been purchasing a variety of fruits from the Valley for his Mongolpuri plant. He even has been instrumental in sale of surplus milk of JKMPCL to Mother Dairy.
 Sanjeev plans a large scale campaign for procurement of fruits and vegetables from Kashmir and sale of Safal Vegie products in Kashmir which offers huge market during tourist season. “We are already here and have a wholesale unit under the name and style of New Unicon at Srinagar’s posh Polo View, Residency Road.”
