‘Mufti’s tenure reminiscent of Tika Khan’
NC TAKES ON MEHBOOBA

Srinagar, Feb 15: Ruling National Conference on Wednesday castigated Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and its president Mehbooba Mufti for indulging in what it called a “mere rhetoric.”
An NC spokesman in a statement here alleged that that it was Mehbooba’s father and PDP patron who brought the state close to ‘bankruptcy’ and made it to earn the most dubious distinction of being the second most corrupt state in the country.
He claimed that Mehbooba was addressing the paid ‘workers’ and said that during her father’s (Mufti Muhammad Sayeed) tenure as Chief Minster, Jammu and Kashmir received an amount of Rs 24000 crore from centre “Out of which not a single penny was spent on the development of the state.”
“Only ribbon cutting ceremonies were held during Mufti’s tenure. None of the projects Mufti laid the foundation stone for were completed thereafter,” he alleged.
Accusing the former Chief Minster, the spokesman said, “It was Mufti who on behest of BJP transferred Muslim Awkaaf Trust to Muslim Wakaf Board. And it was Mufti who adopted the catch and kill policy and uprooted numberless habitations.”
The NC spokesperson alleged that Mehbooba was trying to cover up the ‘heinous’ crimes of her father. “The PDP patron during his tenure behaved like Tika Khan and Tara Masi .
Mufti got a single opportunity to rule the state and he went on auctioning the forests and state land,” he said adding, “Mufti appeased BJP by introducing and passing women’s citizenship and property transfer bills in the state assembly.”
Accusing the former Chief Minster of hushing up the corruption cases involving MLAs and Ministers of his government, the NC spokesman said that in order to save those tainted politicians, Mufti rendered even the Accountability Commission dysfunctional.
“It was during Mufti’s tenure when JK received a blot on its face after the infamous sex scandal was unearthed which involved some of his own ministers and MLAs,” he claimed.
Accusing Mufti of corruption, the NC spokesperson claimed that Mehbooba was unaware of the Kashmir history and claimed that she was always “uttering lies.”
While blaming late Bakshi Ghulam Muhammad and Muhammad Sadiq for weakening the Article 370 and Delhi agreement, the NC spokesperson said that Mufti along with former Governor Jagmohan conspired to convert Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir into a minority state and were instrumental in the migration of Kashmiri Pandits.
