Army’s Intra-district volleyball tournament concludes
Srinagar, Feb 1: The Inter-District Volleyball tournament organised by Army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles (KUMAON) for the villages of Bandipora and Ganderbal youths concluded at Army Goodwill School, Hajan on Wednesday.
The event was held for five days commencing from January 27. The final was played on Wednesday between village Hajan and village Safapura. In a very electrifying and thrilling match, players of village Safapura befittingly won the tournament.
The tournament was aimed at developing a competitive spirit amongst the local youths and also to provide them a platform to showcase their talent. The event drew tremendous participation and enthusiasm from the locals.
Commanding Officer of 13 Rashtriya Rifles (KUMAON) Colonel Manish Chaturvedi, SM gave away the prizes to the winner and runners up teams. All the participating players were also given certificates and consolation prizes.
Commanding Officer speaking on the occasion said that as part of Phase one, intra District Tournament was conducted, in Phase two inter-district tournament will be conducted by 13 Rashtriya Rifles (KUMAON) in which teams from Anantnag, Budgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bandipora and Ganderbal will be participating.
