Police bust human trafficking racket
Srinagar, Feb 1: Police on Wednesday said that it arrested four members of a human trafficking gang and recovered one non local girl that was sold for carrying out illicit trade. A police spokesman said that on a tip off, Pattan Police last night intercepted a vehicle and arrested four persons identified as Muhammad Altaf Khan of Check Razaq Khan, Muhammad Subhan Dar of Mirgund, Ali Muhammad Bhat of Gund Ibrahim Pattan and Muhammad Maqbool Dar of Mirgund Pattan. “Accused were carrying a teenaged girl (name with held) of Islampur Bengal, who was brought to the valley, recently and was sold for carrying out the illegal trade. A case FIR No. 21/2012 under section 366-B was registered in police station, Pattan in this regard,” he added.
