K-resolution can’t be pushed to backburner: Hurriyat (M)
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 22: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Wednesday reiterated its political and constitutional stand on Kashmir issue, clarifying that the amalgam would resist tooth and nail every attempt aimed at putting this human issue into cold storage.
Reacting to the report in which the analyst has revealed that “it (Hurriyat-M) has planned to freeze Kashmir issue for 10 years.”
“The way the analyst has tried to connect Hurriyat Conference with his report is not only irrelevant but also incoherent,” said a spokesman of the Hurriyat in a statement today, adding that “Hurriyat stand is crystal clear that the people of Kashmir want final, acceptable and honourable solution to Kashmir issue.”
“In view of Indo-Pak relations, growing interest of big countries in South Asian region, situation in Afghanistan and economic considerations to boot, the Hurriyat thinks that the resolution of Kashmir issue has become indispensable. So the resolution of this key issue can neither be pushed to backburner nor can it be put into cold storage. The fact remains that the secret of peace and stability and economic prosperity of not only India and Pakistan but also whole south Asia is hidden in the resolution of Kashmir issue,” said the spokesman, adding that “the analyst has ignored the political aspects while writing about confidence measures.”
Supporting meaningful and result oriented talks on Kashmir issue, the Hurriyat announced that the people of Kashmir were the masters of Kashmir and their own destiny. “Any solution which does not fulfil their (Kashmiris’) wishes and aspirations will not be acceptable,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq, who along with other Hurriyat senior leaders: Aga Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Sufvi and Shabir Ahmad Shah, are currently in New Delhi, started the process of meeting diplomats of western and Islamic countries to apprise them about the Kashmir issue, tension in subcontinent, worsening situation in Kashmir and human rights.
The Hurriyat delegation met the ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran Dr S Mehdi Nabizadi, apprising him about all the issues concerning the people of Kashmir.
