JK people deserve change: Sajad Lone
‘NC-PDP responsible for suffering of Kashmiris’
Srinagar, Feb 24: Chairman Peoples’ Conference Sajad Lone today said people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a change to “undo decades of administrative injustice, corruption and rampant mis-governance.”
Addressing a convention of PC workers at the Town Hall in Ganderbal, Lone accused the coalition partner National Conference and opposition PDP of being responsible for Kashmiris sufferings.
“Need for change is palpable in Jammu and Kashmir. People of the State deserve an effective, pro-Kashmir alternative to undo decades of administrative injustice, corruption and rampant misgovernance,” Lone said.
Elaborating Lone said, “Muftis and Abdullahs, the twin traditional ruling families of Kashmir have never sided with or suffered alongside the Kashmiri people when this valley was witnessing an era of turmoil, persecution and bloodshed.”
“Both NC and PDP are two sides of the same coin and have consciously kept Kashmiris in a state of economic persecution to reap political dividends. It’s time to make a distinction between corruption and deliberate economic persecution,” he said.
He said corruption is rampant across the Country yet all the States are witnessing economic change. “The reason for a stagnated, backward economy in Kashmir is that Kashmiris are under an economic siege wherein the common Kashmiri is pinned down to his day-to-day problems to an extent where he is coerced to yield politically,” he said.
He said J&K is the most highly regulated economy in the Country. “Government impedes every aspect of economic activity. The twin families do this with the twin purpose of empowering themselves financially and disempowering the Kashmiri people politically,” he added.
On this occasion, Lone appointed Fayaz Alam, a renowned sportsman of the area as PCs District President for Ganderbal.
