Workshop on ‘role of mass media in agriculture’ held

Islamabad (Anantnag) Feb 26: Director Agriculture, Kashmir Dr Farooq A Lone today said the media has a great role to compress the gap between lab to land.
The Director Agriculture said that Media is the best tool of empowerment through dissemination of information.
He said both print and electronic media need to nurture the opportunities of cooperation between the Department of Agriculture and farming community.
He also highlighted the role of Panchayat Halqas to support agriculture sector.
The director was speaking at a workshop on ‘Role of Mass Media in Agriculture.’
On this occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Islamabad (Anantnag) M A Mir advised farmers to take benefits of the schemes launched by the Agriculture Department and cooperate with Extension Agency in implementing all the programmes.
Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer A.A. Raina advised the farmers to adopt Agri-diversification through establishing income generating units like Bee Keeping, Mushroom Cultivation Flower Cultivation & Vegetable Cultivation.
