Consumers belie oil cos’ claims
Srinagar pockets still reeling under gas shortage
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 5: Even as the oil companies claim to have received bulk gas supply in the Valley, many localities in the Srinagar city still reel under gas shortage.
Residents of localities Qamarwari, Eidgah, Bemina and Karan Nagar told Greater Kashmir that they were facing acute cooking gas shortage. “The dealers concerned told us they have not received any supply from the oil companies,” they said.
Bashir Ahmad of Qamarwari said he was waiting for his turn in a line for more than three hours but only to be informed that the vehicle carrying the gas had been diverted on the instructions of the company to some other locality.
Consumers belied the claims of the oil companies saying: “Where is that supply which the companies claim to have received? If that supply has really come, why there is still shortage of gas in city localities.”
Many consumers said that the dealers have not even restored the home supply. “Once we call up the dealer for home supply, he responds that the home delivery has been stopped for some days.”
