Privileges Com reviews working of Resident Commissioner
Srinagar, Feb 6: The Committee on privileges of J&K Legislative council, under the Chairmanship of MLC Naresh K Gupta has reviewed the working of Resident commissioner office in a meeting at 5, Prithviraj Road in New Delhi today.
MLC Muhammad Amin Bhat and I/c Principal Resident Commissioner were among others present in the meeting.
I/c Principal Resident Commissioner explained to the committee about overall role of Resident Commissioner Office and gave an elaborate over-view of the assets of the Government outside J&K and measures taken for their maintenance.
An official statement said the Committee while taking a holistic view of the affairs of Resident Commissioner after exhaustive interaction with the officers and officials, appreciated I/C Principal Resident Commissioner and his team for their efforts in maintaining the assets of the state and bringing about an overall improvement despite all odds.
The Committee gave their valuable suggestions/ recommendations for further improvement of the Guest Houses and look after of the assets of the state. The Committee stressed that legislators should be provided full protocol on their visit to Delhi.
Chairman has assured the committee for recommending a proposal to the Government for augmentation of the residential accommodation, strengthening the manpower and up- gradation of houses. The Committee also visited Rajaji Marg where recently about three kanals of land have been retrieved from the encroachers.
