Akhoon orders action against AD, supervisor
‘Poor quality foodgrains in CAPD store’

Jammu, Jan 9: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Qamar Ali Akhoon today suspended a Supervisor and attached an Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department (CAPD) for “dereliction of their duties.” The minister, according to an official statement, during a surprise inspection of CAPD and FCI godowns at Wear House (Nehru Market), Bikram Chowk and Chattha found that the foodgrains at Ware House Store of CAPD were of poor quality and not properly stored.
On inquiry, the Minister attached the Assistant Director Trade and Store besides Supervisor of Warehouse store for showing laxity in their duty while receiving the food grain supply. He ordered immediate attachment of Assistant Director with directorate and suspension of supervisor. Akhoon reiterated the commitment of the government to provide best quality and standard food grains to the consumers in every nook and corner of the state.
