6th AGM held
Srinagar, Jan 10: The Srinagar-Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) recently held its 6th AGM at J&K Bank ‘s Corporate Headquarters, here.
The meeting was attended by the members of the ICSI and its students based in Kashmir valley.
Members of the Chapter elected the Management Committee and appointed Parvez Ahmed, Executive President, J&K Bank, and Showkat Hussain Rafiqui, Advocate, respectively as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Chapter for 2012.
The members of the Management Committee elected for 2012 comprise of practising professionals and persons in service holding prominent positions in reputed Institutions, the ICSI in a statement said.
The Management Committee set up its agenda for the calendar year in line with the mission statement of the Chapter to improve the visibility of the profession of Company Secretaries in Kashmir region and bringing the profession closer to students, Government Bodies, Corporate and Business Houses and Investor Community.
Management Committee also constituted special groups with a view to have focused approach on professional development and career awareness programmes besides interacting with Government Bodies, Corporates and Business Houses for availing the versatile and wide ranging services of a Company Secretary both as a part of management team as well as independent practising professionals, it said.
“Further, the Chapter will be offering its suggestions to the State Government, Regional Chamber of Commerce on various policy decisions and legislations aimed at promoting and regulating trade, commerce and industry and guiding Business Houses to corporatize their business,” it said.
