Pvt schools deny vacation to students: Parents
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 10: The parents of many students studying in the private educational institutions across Kashmir Tuesday alleged that the school authorities are denying winter vacations to their wards in the bone-chilling weather.
A delegation of parents said some schools had started coaching classes compelling the students to remain present. “After the vacation was announced, the school authorities started these coaching classes and asked the children to remain present. We were more or less convinced that it would help the students, but now it has become life threatening for the children,” a parent, Me’raj-ud-Din, whose son is studying in a noted private school, said.
In this chilly weather, another parent, Shahzada Ashraf, added, “My 15-year- old daughter has to put on the uniform at around 8:00 AM and then rush to the school. This is ridiculous.”
“If government calls for vacation, the schools have no right to deny the same to the students. They are over ruling the state and bringing discomfort to our children. And, when we appeal them, they do not even listen to us,” Bilquees, mother of a class 3rd student said.
The delegation sought the intervention of Director School Education in this regard.
