Solar lights provided at subsidized rates

Srinagar, Jan 10: A lucky draw was held in the office of Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar Tuesday to select 1000 persons out of 1693 applications received for issuance of solar lights, an official handout said.
 The solar lights are being provided by Science and Technology department under centrally sponsored scheme at fifty percent subsidy.
 It is pertinent to mention here that these solar lights are available at Rs. 11,000 in open market while Government is providing it at a subsidized rate of Rs. 5500/- only.
 Present on the occasion were concerned officers.
