Thieves on prowl in Kupwara

Kupwara, Jan 10: Thieves decamped with goods worth lakhs of rupees from many shops and residential houses in many areas here during past few days.
Locals said an organized group of thieves is active in many areas including Hayhama, Batpora, Balhama, Chat, Kunnard,Guchipora and Trumnard. They said the thieves decamped with goods from many shops including of Habibullah Wani at Behramdari besides stole battery and others gadgets of many vehicles
“The thieves have spread panic in the area as they set houses on fire to terrorise us. We appeal SSP Kupwara to nab the accused to restore sense of security in the area,” said Ali Muhammad Khan of Batpora whose shop has also been looted.
