Swarajpeeth condemns Boniyar killing
Srinagar, Jan 11: Swarajpeeth Trust, J&K has strongly condemned the killing of Altaf Ahmad Sood by the CISF personnel in Boniyar and demanded action against the accused.
“In democracy, the citizens’ right to express popular grievances in peaceful manner and its respect must be guaranteed at any cost. For the growth of democratic environment in a violence torn region, it is most important that security forces steadfastly adhere to their mandate including protection of life, property and dignity of people,” said Rajiv Vora Chairman, Swarajpeeth Trust, in a statement.
“The restrain exercised by the people of the Valley should set an example. We appeal the powers in Delhi to find a morally convincing way to condole the victims of its violence. We sincerely hope that the State of J&K and the Centre will take effective steps to ensure prevention of such acts in future in order to restore people’s confidence in democratic methods,” the statement added.
