Latest soil testing equipment commissioned in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 12: Commissioner-Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Naveen Chaudhary today commissioned an Atomic Absorption Spectro Photometer.
The equipment commissioned in the Soil Testing Laboratory at Krishi Bhawan complex, Talab-Tillo, here, will help the department in soil testing
With the commissioning of the equipment, the Department of Agriculture Jammu will now be able to analyze micro-nutrients content of soils such as Zinc, Copper, Iron and Manganese, an official handout today said.
“These nutrients, although required in minor quantities play a significant role in growth, development and productivity enhancement of crops besides improving the quality characteristics,” it said.
Notably, Chaudhary was on his first visit to the Directorate of Agriculture Complex to inspect various development activities after taking over his new official assignment as Commissioner-Secretary Agriculture.
