Fazal Illahi re-elected as prez KSSIA

Srinagar, Jan 13: Syed Fazal Illahi was today re-elected unopposed as president of Kashmir Small Scale Industries Association, Industrial Estate, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan.
The general members of the association hailed Illahi for his “performance during the last term.”
A three-member Election Commission headed by Shakeel Qalander, former president FCIK, declared the results of the governing body and 15-member Executive Committee, the association in a statement said.
Among other office bearers, Dr Ghulam Hassan Ghasi was elected as Vice-President and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din as General Secretary.
Syed Nazim-ud-Din, Meraj Ahmad Qureshi, Syed Afaq Qadiri, Nazir Ahmad Magrey, Ghulam Mohammad, Gulzar Ahmad, Abdul Rashid Jami, Malik Altaf Hussain, Dr. Abdul Rashid Khan, Riyaz Ahmad Khan, Javaid Ahmad Wani, Itrat Hussain Kashu, Masood Ahmad Wani, Muhammad Ashraf Tramboo and Muhammad Yasin were elected as members to the Executive Committee.
Chief election commissioner Shakeel Qalander expressed his satisfaction over the response and interest shown by the general members in electing a “strong industrial body” that aims at promotion and development of industrial sector.
He said Kashmir Small Scale Industries Association is one of the oldest industrial associations of the Valley besides being one of the founder constituents of Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK).
“The association has been proactive in mitigating the problems of existing entrepreneurs besides helping prospective entrepreneurs in implementation of their projects,” he said.
Notably, the KSSIA has produced number of entrepreneurs who have served the industrial fraternity of Kashmir from the platform of FCIK from time to time who among others include its four past presidents Syed Nazim-ud-Din, Mehraj Qureshi, Afaq Qadiri and Shakeel Qalander.
