JKPCC churning skilled manpower to fill gap in other departments

Srinagar, Jan 13: J&K Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCC) today organized a technical training workshop for its staff.
The workshop held at JKPCC Head Office here imparted technical training on operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical support services to the staff.
It is for the first time in the history of the Corporation that the management has taken keen interest to upgrade and enhance the technical ability of human resources to generate revenue.
Managing Director JKPCC, M M Gupta said the aim of the training is to develop capacity building of the staff to deliver in more profitable manner.
“We have large number of casual staff to whom we want to impart technical training and utilize their services. We want to develop a pool of skilled manpower in specific areas whose services can be utilized in operation and maintenance of mechanical support services like Heating, Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) System, Sewerage Treatment Plants (STP) and lifts and escalators,” he said
Gupta said the idea is to train the manpower and send them to other departments. “We can provide cheap skilled and technical labour to other departments and also earn revenue for the Corporation,” he added.

The training to the employees was imparted by a senior manager of the Corporation.
Sources said the initiative has been taken on the directions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is also the chairman of the Corporation.
The employees of the Corporation have hailed the decisions and hoped it would usher JKPCC in new era of development and excellence.
