‘College coming up in old City’

Srinagar, Jan 14: The government is coming up with a degree college at Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan in Shahr-Khaas, an official handout said.
 This was disclosed by the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister for Higher Education and Employment during a tour of MP Higher Secondary School at Bagh-i-Dilwar Khan, Srinagar Saturday.
 The handout said the duo discussed matters related to establishment of a new college in the premises of the school with concerned officers in detail.
 The Ministers also discussed the matters concerning infrastructure building and land acquisition for the said college. They directed the concerned to ensure the commissioning of the proposed college by March, 2012.
 The Minister for Higher Education told the meeting that in the first phase subjects of Tourism and Financial Management would be taught in the proposed.
 He said that the college will be dedicated to SK Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah.
 He said that besides other courses Government intends to introduce Post-Graduate courses in Chemistry subjects also.
