Ministers conduct tours, review situation
SNOWFALL AFTERMATH
Srinagar, Jan 18: The Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today reviewed measures taken by various departments with regard to snow clearance.
The Deputy Chief Minster visited two dewatering pump stations, at Ibrahim Colony, Hyderpora and at Barzulla near Bone and Joint Hospital. The concerned Engineers of Drainage Division informed the Deputy Chief Minister that 72 permanent dewatering stations are operational in Srinagar city for dewatering low lying areas of the city.
BHALLA REVIEWS DAMAGES
Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today convened a high level meeting of officers in the Winter Secretariat to review stock and supply position of essentials, restoration of power, water supply and other basic amenities of life. He also take stock of damages of structures occur due to recent snowfall.
Bhalla directed the Divisional Commissioner, who is monitoring State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) to activate disaster management cells at divisional and district levels so that it mitigates peoples’ problems.
SHAM CONDUCTS TOUR OF HEALTH INSTITUTIONS
The Minister for Health and Horticulture, Sham Lal Sharma conducted a marathon tour of various health institutions of Badgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar.
During his inspection of Budgam Hospital, Sham visited various wards and Hospital Store and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients in the hospital.
GUL MONITORS SUPPLIES, RESTORATION WORKS
Gul along-with a team of senior officers visited various areas including Safakadal, Chattabal, Sakidafar, Nalahmar road, Iddgah, Syeedpora where a number of deputations and individuals met and apprised him of their grievances. Peerzada reviews restoration works
PEERZADA HOLDS MEET
Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed chaired district administration meeting at Khanabal and another sectoral officers meeting at Kokernag and reviewed the measures taken by the administration to provide relief to the people of snowbound and cutoff areas.
TAJ REVIEWS POST SNOWFALL MEASURES
Minister for PHE, Irrigation, Taj Mohi-ud-Din reviewed post snowfall measures taken by the administration to mitigate the problems with regard to availability of essentials at a high level meeting here today.
The Minister appreciated the Administration for its strenuous efforts made during the hour of crisis. He complimented the administration on behalf of government for successfully negotiating the crisis.
