Fulfill PDD daily wagers demands: Tarigami to Govt

Jammu, Jan 24: Urging upon authorities to redress the longstanding legitimate grievances of Power Development Department (PDD) daily wagers, CPIM today expressed full support to the agitating workers.
"We urge upon authorities to redress the long pending legitimate grievances of PDD daily wagers, who are sitting on dharna at Jammu for last several months. We expressed full support to the agitating workers and demanded that government should immediately fulfill their demands," CPI (M) state secretary M Y Tarigami told a rally of daily wagers and casual labourers of PDD here.
The government should ensure that wages due to them are paid and process of regularisation is initiated without any further delay, he said. Despite assurances, wages are not being released regularly to these poor workers, forcing them to resort to indefinite strike, Tarigami said.
