LA panel for regular inspection of AWCs
Jammu, Jan 24: Assurance Committee (AC) of Legislative Assembly today directed the Social Welfare (SW) department authorities to conduct monthly inspection of every Anganwari Centres (AWCs) to check nutrition and other requirements.
The Committee also directed to pursue the Court cases if any and vacate the stays so that all sanctioned AWCs are made functional and the benefits of the welfare schemes percolate to the people well in time.
The Committee, which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi reviewed the functioning of Social Welfare department and present status of the Assurances pertaining to their department.
The Committee also discussed in detail the implementation of Tribal sub-Plan as well as and disbursement of scholarship among the ST/SC students. The Chairman instructed the Director Tribal to ensure that the scholarships shall reach the targeted students well in time.
