ARMY CONFERS GALLANTRY AWARDS TO JK POLICE OFFICERS
Srinagar, Jan 25: Army today conferred gallantry awards to five police officers for their contribution in busting militant modules in joint operations in the State.
A defence spokesman in a statement said, “the synergy between the Army and the J&K Police has been at its best during the peaceful year of 2011.”
“The success in terms of elimination and arrests of militants along with busting of their modules in joint operations speak volumes of the achievements of both the forces. Keeping in mind the sacrifices and valuable contribution of the State Police Force, the Army has conferred gallantry awards on meritorious officers of the J&K Police,” the statement said.
It said Muneer Ahmad Khan, DIG, North Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Khan, SP, Sopore and Ifroz Ahmad, DSP, Handwara have been awarded Chief of the Army Staff Commendation Card while Ashiq Hussain Tak, DSP, Sopore and Iftikhar Talib, DSP have been awarded Army Commander’s Commendation Card respectively.
“Lieutenant General SA Hasnain, GOC Chinar Corps and all ranks of Chinar Corps congratulate the gallant officers for their glorious achievement and wish the police fraternity many more success in times to come,” it added.
