Aspirants cry foul in short listing of physiotherapists

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Jan 27: The aspirants who had applied for the posts of Physiotherapist and senior therapist at the Government Medical College run hospitals have cried foul in the recently published list of short-listed candidates.
A delegation said, some of the short listed candidates had allegedly done their diplomas and degrees from unrecognized universities and were not eligible for the interview.
“Moreover, the notification about the short listed candidates didn’t appeared in leading dailies of Valley raising more doubts,” the aspirants alleged.
The delegation said the aspirants with requisite qualifications from state government recognized institutions were being allegedly ignored to benefit some candidates.
“If there’s any doubt we’ll refer the case to the Physiotherapist Council of India after holding interviews,” Government Medical College Principal, Dr Qazi Masood said.
“Let’s conduct the interview and come out with a tentative list including those figuring in the waiting list. Then we’ll immediately refer it to the concerned council for verification,” he said.
The GMC Principal said this was the “only viable solution to the problem.”
Meanwhile, the complainants have appealed to the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to look into the matter.
