Bring in joint resolution: Er Rasheed to NC, PDP
Amnesty for Afzal Guru
Panditpora (Langate) Jan 29: MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed on Sunday asked National Conference and PDP to bring a joint resolution in the forthcoming session of Legislative Assembly to seek amnesty for Afzal Guru.
Addressing a public gathering here in north Kashmir Er Rasheed said, his resolution to seek amnesty for Afzal Guru was “sabotaged” in the previous Assembly session, which saddened the people. “I have been saying that Guru issue should be seen throw the prism of humanity and not politics, and I expect all lovers of humanity to support amnesty for him,” he asserted.
Er Rasheed said since two main regional parties NC and PDP say that in principle they support amnesty to Guru, so let them bring a joint resolution in the forthcoming LA session. “This is the time for them to prove their sincerity and seriousness,” he said.
MLA Langate said that he was in touch with several leaders of both the parties, and hoped NC and PDP would overcome their narrow political differences for the sake of people.
