Govt to promote Adeeb-e-Mahir as ReTs

Jammu, Jan 6: An official spokesman on Friday said that Education Volunteers (EVs) having qualification of Adeeb-e-Mahir (12th Class) Plus English form State of Board of School Education (BOSE) would be considered for elevation as Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (ReTs).
He said the decision in this regard was taken during a meeting chaired by Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Muhammad Sayed, here.
“Threadbare discussion was held for providing of Urdu teachers in government schools where a good number of Urdu learning students are available. The Education Minister stressed for promotion of Urdu Language which is official language of the state and mostly used in Revenue, Judiciary, Police and other key departments,” he said.
The Education Minister, according to the spokesman, asked the Directors of School Education Kashmir and Jammu to process the cases of Evs for regularization as ReT who have qualification of Adeeb-e-Mahir plus English.
“It was also decided in the meeting to give a last chance for improving the qualification up to June 2013 for those Evs who have not acquired the required qualification of 10 +2 till date. The Minister also directed to update the website of Education department i.e. http://www.jkeducation.gov.in/ and put the list of recognized universities and Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) for the knowledge of general public and students,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner/Secretary Education, Naseema Lanker, Chairman BOSE Dr Shiekh Bashir Ahmad, Secretary BOSE M SBaloria, Additional Secretary Education Chaudary Rashid Azam Inqlabi, Professor of Urdu in University of Jammu Dr Reyaz Ahmad and Director Academics, BOSE.
