Haft Chinar protests against demolition

Srinagar, Jan  6: The residents of Haft Chinar have staged protests against the recent demolition drive in the area.
The complainants alleged that without having finalized any negotiations over their relocation from the area, their dwellings were demolished by the concerned authorities.
“We have been left shelter less in these chilly conditions… Where will we go?” the complainants asked.
“Nobody dislikes development but it shouldn’t be at the cost of injustice,” the locals said.
They appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the local MLA and junior minister in the state Cabinet, Nasir Sogami to personally look into the matter.
