CM to head Advisory Board on higher education
Srinagar, Jan 7: Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik today announced that a high level Advisory Board has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to monitor and strengthen the higher education sector.
“The higher education has been prioritized among other sectors by the Government. It is privilege to announce that a high level Advisory Board has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to strengthen higher education sector,” Malik said while addressing inaugural session of a National Seminar on ‘Quality Assurance in Higher Education’ organized by Adarsh College of Education, Tarore here today.
“The Board is likely to hold its first meeting shortly with eminent educationists of the country and aboard to discuss modalities for bringing revolution in higher education sector,” the Minister added.
The Minister said the Government alone cannot fulfill the needs and aspirations of student community. ‘Thus there is dire need of extending all possible support to the private institutions of the State,” he added.
On the occasion, the Director Information and Public Relations, Kh. Farooq Renzushah who presided over the function lauded the College for organizing the seminar.
“Such seminars and workshops are earnestly required to keep faculty active and alert with latest developments in educational trends on global level. It is awareness and knowledge which makes a person perfect human being and faith in religion enhances moral standards and assures peace and tranquility of people living in any country of the globe,” he said.
