Miscreants provoking people: Malik
HASIBHAT INCIDENT WIDELY CONDEMNED
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 30: The alleged desecration of holy Quran and Alam Sharief at Imambara Gund Hasibhat has come in for severe condemnation from various political and religious organisations.
The chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik while addressing a gathering at Gund Hasibhat today said those involved could not be the friends of Muslims.
Malik said these acts were carried out to stir up sectarian passions in Kashmir. “We salute the people
whose wisdom, sincerity and timely intervention pacified the tempers of enraged people and saved the situation from going out of control. We also felicitate the people of the area for staying cool and calm over the provocative incident thereby foiling the nefarious designs of the conspirators,” he said, adding that “some miscreants were trying their best to provoke people to indulge in infighting.” “But the fact remains that the people of Kashmir are wise enough to differentiate between friend and foe and they cannot be easily trapped in the web of conspirators,” he said, appealing to the people to rise above their Maslaki considerations and maintain unity among the ranks to scuttle the evil designs of conspirators.
Hurriyat Conference (G), at a meeting of its advisory council held here today with Syed Ali Shah Geelani in chair, termed the incident most unfortunate, calling for peaceful protest demonstrations after Friday prayers on July 6 against it.
In a statement today, a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said, “The desecration incident at Gund Hasibhat was the third of its kind in one month. It is an intolerable incident aimed at hurting the sentiments of Muslims and whipping up sectarian passions in Kashmir. The Muslims need to demonstrate unity to foil the nefarious designs of vested interests.”
The president of Jammu Kashmir Itehad-ul-Muslimeen Moulana Masroor Abass Ansari while addressing a public meeting today at Gund Hasibhat, expressed serious concern over the incident, terming it a handiwork of those who always tried to divide the Muslims in groups and sow seeds of distrust and hatred among them.
Ansari thanked the people of maintaining unity and foiling the designs of miscreants. He wanted immediate impartial probe into the incidents of Dastgeer Sahab and Gund Hasibhat.
The chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (H) Javid Ahmad Mir while expressing serious concern over the incident, terming it the handiwork of anti-movement elements to stir up sectarian hatred in Kashmir.
“Such vile acts are committed by the vested interests under a deep rooted conspiracy to divide the people and deflect their attention from the ongoing freedom struggle,” said Mir in a statement today, urging the people to maintain unity at all costs and strengthen the hands of pro-freedom leadership.
Jamaat-e-Islami J&K, while strongly condemning the incident, cautioned the people to remain vigilant against those elements who wanted to start a sectarian violence within the Muslim community. “The people can defeat these elements by demonstrating patience and unity and respecting each other’s emotions.
Jama’at appealed to all the conscious scholars and intellectuals of the Muslim Ummah to come forward and guide this community towards the right path of Islam which alone can create a real sense of unity and steadfastness among them.
The chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed serious apprehensions regarding the acts of desecration one after the other in different parts of Kashmir, believing to have been manipulated to enmesh the people in sectarian frenzy and sowing seeds of hatred.
