‘Give us previous regime power supply, if not better’

ATTENTION of Divisional Commissioner Dr Asgar Hassan  Samoon is invited towards our residential area, the Kursu Padshahi Bagh, which has been covered with nearly 400 – 500 new residential houses, besides the ancestral population of nearly 1200 families living in this area, which is in the close vicinity of the City.
To be precise the area is approximately 3 Kms from Lal Chowk, 3.5 Kms before Nowgam Railway Station & Tourist Facilitation Centre, 3 Kms from TRC, besides being of same distance from the residence of Honb’le Chief Minister.
Though we appreciate the initiatives taken by all the elected Governments in the last 10 – 12 years for giving due importance for rebuilding of basic infrastructure, but regret to say that no proper attention has been given to our area.
We have been totally neglected during all these years as we feel our area seems to be in a No Man’s Land, unfortunately due to the vote bank politics we have been ignored. Despite our repeated requests at various quarters, nothing has been done.  The biggest persistent problem for the past few years in that of poor power supply.
Though our area is close to City centre, it remains in the dark for hours together. We consider sharing this quandary with you when we are racing ahead with the time where modern information technologies and communication has taken a stride. Unfortunately power disruption puts us behind in our day-to-day working.
Usually every year, after the end of winter, officials of the Power Development Department would revise and reschedule the power curtailments program, but this year it seems the officials have slept over this issue as no revision has been made till date. We feel it the necessity of giving you the comparison of the power position our area and many other areas had during previous Governments and the plight during the present Government as mentioned in the table.
In view of the above, we request you to kindly look into the power problem.
Kindly get the electricity restored at least to what we were getting during previous Government, if not better than that.
